Forensic photography plays an important role in documenting physical locations, objects, injuries, accidents and other circumstances connected with an investigation. A carefully recorded photograph can preserve visual details that may change over time, become damaged during subsequent activity or no longer be available for direct inspection. In criminal investigations, civil disputes, insurance claims and other legal matters, properly documented images can help investigators, advocates and other authorized professionals understand the appearance and condition of the scene or evidence at a particular point in time.
Brilliant Forensic Investigation (BFI) provides Forensic Photography Expert Services in Delhi NCR for suitable investigative, legal, accident-related and evidence-documentation requirements. The service focuses on systematic photographic documentation, accurate visual representation, detailed recording of relevant features and responsible preservation of photographic material. The exact scope depends on the nature of the incident, the location, the evidence to be documented, the authorization available and the requirements of the assignment.
Forensic photography is different from ordinary photography because its purpose is to record relevant visual information as accurately and transparently as possible. The photographer must consider the surroundings, the position of an object, the relationship between different items, lighting conditions, perspective, image scale and the need to preserve the original photographs. A visually attractive photograph is not necessarily a useful forensic photograph. The images should help a reviewer understand what was present, where it was situated and which details were visible when it was documented.
BFI can discuss forensic photography requirements involving crime scenes, physical evidence, road accidents, vehicle damage, fire incidents, disputed property damage, injury documentation and other situations in which photographic records may assist an investigation or legal matter. Where detailed image examination, digital image authentication, three-dimensional documentation or specialist analysis is required, the scope and availability of that additional work should be established separately.
Whether you are searching for a forensic photographer in Delhi, crime scene photography in Ghaziabad, evidence photography in Noida or forensic photography services for a legal case in Delhi NCR, BFI can discuss the specific documentation requirements and the appropriate scope of assistance.
Forensic photography is the systematic recording of a scene, object, injury or other relevant subject for investigative, scientific or legal purposes. Its value lies in preserving a visual record that can be examined later, compared with other documentation and considered alongside witness accounts, measurements, written observations and other evidence.
A forensic photograph may document the overall condition of a location, the position of an object, a visible mark on a surface, a damaged vehicle component, a questioned item or another detail that needs careful recording. Photographs may also help establish the context in which an item was observed, provided that the images are captured and documented appropriately.
The usefulness of a forensic photograph depends on more than its resolution. The viewpoint, focus, lighting, scale, framing and relationship between the subject and its surroundings can affect how the image is interpreted. If an object is photographed only in extreme close-up, the image may show detail but fail to establish where the object was originally found. If the photographer records only a wide view, important identifying characteristics may remain too small to examine. A properly planned photographic record addresses these different needs.
BFI approaches forensic photography according to the purpose of the investigation. The images should document the observable conditions without introducing unsupported interpretations. A photograph can show the appearance of a mark, stain, crack or damaged surface, but it does not automatically establish its cause, age, source or connection with a particular person. Those conclusions may require additional examination and supporting evidence.
Crime scene photography is used to record the visual condition of a location associated with a reported incident. The location may be indoors or outdoors and may involve a residence, office, commercial premises, public area, vehicle, industrial site or another relevant environment. The requirements vary according to the size of the scene, its condition, the items present and the questions being investigated.
BFI provides crime scene photography assistance for suitable assignments where authorized photographic documentation is required. The work may involve recording the general layout, entrances and exits, room arrangements, visible damage, relevant objects, surface marks and the position of identified evidence within the surrounding environment. The photographic plan should reflect the actual scene rather than assume that every incident requires the same set of images.
Photographs taken before a scene changes can be particularly important. Objects may later be moved, surfaces may be disturbed, weather may affect outdoor locations or repair work may alter the original condition of a property. Where access is lawful and the scene can be documented safely, the photographic record may help preserve information about its condition at the time of photography.
Crime scene photography should be coordinated with the requirements of the responsible authority and any authorized investigation. The photographer must avoid disturbing evidence or interfering with an active investigation. Photography does not replace scene security, evidence collection, written documentation, measurements, sketches or other procedures that may be necessary for a particular case.
BFI considers the purpose of the assignment, the site conditions and the intended use of the photographs before determining the appropriate documentation approach. The resulting images should accurately represent what was recorded and should not be used to claim a conclusion that the photographs cannot independently establish.
Different photographic views serve different purposes in documenting a scene. Overall photographs record the broader location and help a reviewer understand the layout and general condition. They may show a room, building, outdoor area, vehicle position or the wider surroundings relevant to the incident. These images establish context and help the viewer understand where the documented subject was located.
Mid-range photographs connect an individual object or item of interest with identifiable features of the surrounding scene. They help show the object’s location in relation to a wall, doorway, piece of furniture, vehicle component or other fixed reference. A mid-range view can be especially useful when a close-up photograph records a particular mark or object but does not independently explain where it was found.
Close-up photographs record the features of a particular item in greater detail. Depending on the subject, these images may show an identifying mark, surface damage, a fracture, a visible impression, a serial number, a stain or another relevant characteristic. Where appropriate and safe for the evidence, photographs may be taken both without a scale and with a suitable scale placed in the correct plane beside the subject. This can help retain an unmarked view while also documenting size.
BFI considers the need for these different views when planning forensic photography. A complete record may require several perspectives rather than a single image. The exact number and arrangement of photographs depend on the subject, the scene and the evidentiary purpose. Where measurements or precise distances are important, photography may need to be supported by separate measurements or a scene sketch because a two-dimensional image cannot reliably communicate every spatial relationship.
Physical evidence can include objects, marks, damaged materials, impressions, stains, fragments and other items relevant to an investigation. The condition and location of such material may change when it is handled, moved, cleaned, transported or exposed to environmental conditions. Photographic documentation can preserve a record of visible features before those changes occur.
BFI provides forensic evidence photography for suitable assignments involving the visual documentation of physical items and their surroundings. Depending on the case, this may include documenting a questioned object, visible damage, tool marks, broken materials, footprints, tyre impressions, surface marks, packaging, recovered property or other items requiring a photographic record.
The photographic process should record the item as it is found, subject to scene safety and authorized procedures. The photographer should avoid repositioning evidence merely to improve the composition of an image. Where an item has already been moved before photography, that circumstance should be communicated to the responsible person and documented as appropriate rather than presenting the new position as the original location.
Evidence markers and identification labels can be useful when their placement is authorized and appropriate. However, markers should not obscure the subject or create confusion about the item’s original appearance. Original views without added markers may be important, followed by additional images showing the documented location or identification information where required.
Photographs are one part of the broader evidentiary record. Their significance depends on the circumstances of capture, the accompanying notes, the identification of the subject, the handling of the original files and the other information available in the investigation. BFI aims to provide clear photographic documentation without treating an image as proof of more than it actually shows.
Some evidence contains visual details that may be difficult to observe in an ordinary photograph. Small surface marks, fine fractures, identifying features, scratches, impressions and other close-range characteristics may require careful lighting, suitable magnification and a stable camera position to record effectively.
BFI can discuss macro and close-up forensic photography requirements for suitable items where detailed visual documentation is needed. Depending on the subject, the work may involve recording small markings on objects, the surface condition of materials, damage to components, printed or engraved identifiers, visible tool marks or other features that are relevant to the investigation.
Close-range photography requires particular attention to focus, perspective, lighting and scale. Reflections, shadows, uneven surfaces and shallow depth of field can make important features difficult to interpret. The photographer should select a viewpoint and lighting arrangement that records the subject clearly without concealing relevant features or creating a misleading appearance.
Where photographs are intended for comparison, the orientation and scale of the image can be important. A suitable scale should be positioned in the same plane as the feature being photographed where practicable, and the camera angle should be selected to reduce distortion. Comparison-quality photography may require more controlled conditions than general scene documentation, depending on the subject and the examination to be undertaken.
A detailed photograph does not independently establish the source of a mark or the process that created it. Technical conclusions about fingerprints, toolmarks, materials or other specialist evidence require the appropriate examination and expertise. BFI can discuss the photographic requirements and clarify when separate specialist analysis may be necessary.
Accident scene photographs can help document vehicle positions, road conditions, visible damage, debris, skid marks, impact areas, road markings, surrounding structures and other observable details relevant to an incident. These records may be useful in insurance assessments, civil disputes, workplace investigations, transport-related matters and legal proceedings.
BFI provides accident photography assistance for suitable requirements in Delhi NCR, including photographic documentation of road traffic incidents and other accident-related locations. The appropriate photographic approach depends on whether the scene remains accessible, the safety conditions, the authority responsible for the location and the information that needs to be preserved.
A useful accident photographic record may include wider views showing the location and road layout, intermediate views connecting vehicles or damaged objects with their surroundings, and close-up images of relevant damage or marks. Where necessary and authorized, photographs may also document vehicle registration details, visible component damage, broken parts, tyre condition and other features that can be clearly observed.
Photographs should be interpreted carefully because perspective, camera position and the absence of measurements can affect how distances and vehicle positions appear. An image may document visible damage, but it does not automatically determine vehicle speed, the precise sequence of events, fault or legal responsibility. Those issues may require scene measurements, technical inspection, witness information and other evidence.
BFI can discuss the documentation requirements for an accident-related matter and help establish the photographic scope suitable for the scene. The work should be performed safely and with the permissions required for access to the location and any restricted material.
Vehicle-related photography may be required after a collision, a suspected tampering incident, property damage, an insurance dispute or another event in which the condition of a vehicle is relevant. Detailed photographs can preserve visible damage and identifying features before repairs, cleaning or further handling changes the vehicle’s appearance.
BFI provides vehicle forensic photography assistance for suitable assignments where a visual record of the vehicle’s condition is required. Depending on the purpose, the photographs may document the overall vehicle, its position, individual panels, impact areas, broken components, tyre condition, identifying labels and other relevant external or accessible internal details.
When damage is being documented, both contextual and detailed images may be important. A wider view can establish which part of the vehicle is affected, while close-up views can record scratches, fractures, deformation, paint transfer or other visible characteristics. The photographer should avoid implying that a particular mark was caused by a specific event unless a separate examination supports that conclusion.
For disputes involving insurance claims or alleged damage, the photographic record may help preserve the appearance of the vehicle at the time of inspection. The images should be linked to the correct vehicle and assignment through appropriate notes and file management. If damage is assessed by another professional, the photographs may support that assessment without replacing a mechanical examination or accident reconstruction where such work is required.
BFI can discuss suitable vehicle documentation requirements according to the circumstances, available access and intended use of the photographs.
Fire scenes can change rapidly because of extinguishing operations, structural instability, debris removal, weather exposure and repair work. Photographic documentation may help preserve the visible condition of a property after a fire, including structural damage, affected rooms, electrical components, damaged equipment, visible burn patterns and relevant surrounding areas.
BFI provides fire and arson scene photography assistance for suitable investigative and insurance-related assignments. The photographic scope may include overall views of the affected property, photographs establishing the location of damaged areas, and detailed images of visible marks, damaged objects or components identified for documentation.
In insurance claim investigations, photographs may help record the extent and distribution of visible damage and the condition of relevant property. The images can contribute to a broader record considered alongside inventory documentation, repair estimates, inspection findings, policy requirements and other material relevant to the claim.
Care is required when interpreting fire patterns and burn damage. A photograph alone should not be treated as definitive proof of arson, the use of an accelerant, the exact point of origin or the cause of a fire. These conclusions may require a specialized fire investigation, scene examination, laboratory analysis and consideration of alternative explanations.
BFI can discuss the photographic requirements for fire-damaged properties and insurance investigations. Access to unsafe or restricted areas must be authorized, and all photography should follow applicable safety directions and the requirements of the responsible authority.
Photographic documentation of visible injuries may be relevant to authorized medico-legal examinations, accident investigations, workplace incidents and other matters in which the appearance of an injury needs to be recorded. The images may help document the location, visible characteristics and condition of an injury at the time of examination.
BFI can discuss injury photography requirements for suitable assignments, subject to the appropriate authorization, privacy safeguards and involvement of qualified medical personnel where required. The process should respect the dignity and privacy of the person photographed and should be carried out with appropriate consent or other lawful authority.
Where injury images are required, the photographic approach may involve contextual views that identify the relevant body area and closer views that document the visible injury. A suitable scale may be used when appropriate, provided that it does not obscure the injury or compromise the dignity of the person. Lighting, focus and camera orientation should be selected to record the visible features accurately.
Injury photographs must be interpreted within their limits. They may show the appearance of an injury, but they do not necessarily establish the exact time it occurred, the cause, the person responsible or the complete circumstances of the event. Those questions may require examination findings, medical records, the history of the incident and other evidence.
BFI treats injury-documentation assignments as sensitive work requiring careful handling of images and associated records. Any conclusions concerning the nature, cause or medical significance of an injury must remain within the appropriate professional scope and should not be inferred from photographs alone.
Property damage, machinery failures, workplace incidents and industrial accidents can involve multiple affected areas, broken components, damaged equipment and environmental conditions that need to be recorded before repairs or removal take place. Photographic documentation can help preserve the visible state of the premises and the objects involved.
BFI provides property damage and industrial incident photography assistance for suitable assignments in which an accurate visual record is required. Depending on the incident, documentation may involve structural cracks, damaged doors or windows, machinery components, electrical equipment, stored materials, affected inventory, impact marks and other visible conditions.
A useful photographic record should establish both the broader context and the specific areas of interest. Photographs of a damaged component may need to be linked with wider images showing where the component was installed or located. Where multiple rooms, machines or items are involved, consistent identification and file documentation can help prevent confusion when the photographs are reviewed later.
Photography can also support the review of a property or equipment claim, but the images do not automatically establish the cause of damage or the value of the loss. Those matters may require engineering assessment, repair documentation, inventory records, financial information or other evidence.
BFI can discuss the requirements of the particular incident, the areas to be photographed and the intended use of the resulting images. The scope should be agreed before the inspection, especially when access is restricted or equipment needs to remain undisturbed for a technical examination.
Documents and electronic devices can become important in investigations involving disputed records, suspected tampering, damaged property, unauthorized access or other incidents. Photographs may help record the external condition, visible markings, labels, serial numbers, screen displays and physical arrangements of such items.
BFI can discuss photographic documentation requirements for documents and electronic devices when a visual record is needed. For documents, this may include recording the overall page, visible annotations, folds, tears, stains, damage and other features that can be documented without altering the original. For electronic devices, the images may record external damage, identifying labels, ports, connected accessories or relevant visible displays, subject to authorization and case requirements.
Care is necessary when documenting a questioned document. Photographs should not be presented as a substitute for a proper examination of the original material where handwriting, ink, alterations, erasures or other document features require specialist analysis. Camera angle, glare, shadows, resolution and colour reproduction may affect how the document appears in a photograph.
Similarly, photographing a computer, mobile phone or screen does not replace the preservation or forensic extraction of digital data. The state of a device, its stored information and the authenticity of electronic files may require separate digital forensic procedures. A screenshot or photograph of displayed information does not independently prove who created it or whether it has been altered.
BFI can help define the photographic documentation needed for the physical items involved. Where a matter requires questioned-document examination, digital forensic analysis or image authenticity examination, the scope of that specialist work should be discussed separately.
Visible impressions and surface marks may require careful photographic documentation before they are collected, lifted, processed or otherwise examined. Examples can include footprints, tyre impressions, tool marks and other patterned features visible on a surface. The documentation requirements depend on the type of impression, its location, the condition of the surface and the procedures authorized for the case.
BFI can discuss photography requirements for visible impressions and surface marks in suitable assignments. Overall photographs can document the setting, intermediate photographs can establish the location of the mark and close-up photographs can capture its visible detail. Where appropriate, images may include a scale to help record dimensions.
Lighting can be particularly important when an impression is shallow, reflective or difficult to distinguish from the surrounding surface. A carefully selected lighting angle may make certain visible features clearer, but the resulting image must still represent the mark accurately. The photographer should not manipulate the surface or alter the evidence simply to create a more dramatic picture.
Photographs of impressions may support subsequent examination, comparison or reporting, but they do not automatically identify a source. The interpretation of a fingerprint, footprint or tool mark requires the appropriate examination method and sufficient information. Photography and specialist comparison should therefore be treated as related but distinct activities.
BFI can discuss the documentation requirements and the appropriate relationship between scene photography and any additional examination required for the item.
Forensic photography may be relevant in criminal investigations, civil disputes, workplace inquiries, corporate incidents, suspected vandalism, property damage claims and other matters where a clear visual record is needed. The objective is to preserve relevant information without changing the appearance of the subject or drawing unsupported conclusions about what happened.
BFI provides forensic photography assistance for suitable civil, criminal and corporate investigation requirements. Depending on the case, the work may involve documenting a location, disputed property condition, visible damage, relevant objects, physical traces or other features identified within the agreed scope.
In a civil dispute, the photographs may help record the condition of a property or object before repairs, restoration or further use. In a corporate matter, photography may document physical damage, a workplace incident or the condition of specific assets. In a criminal investigation, photographs may form part of the visual record of an authorized scene examination.
The intended use of the photographs should be considered before the work begins. Images prepared for general documentation may require a different scope from photographs intended for detailed comparison, technical analysis or court-related presentation. Any required identification, photo logs, supporting measurements and reporting arrangements should be established in advance where practicable.
BFI aims to provide accurate visual records that can be assessed alongside the other information in the case. The photographs are not a substitute for independent findings about intent, liability, identity or the cause of an incident where those conclusions require additional evidence.
The way photographs are stored and managed can be as important as the process of capturing them. If original files are lost, altered without documentation or separated from the relevant case information, it may become harder to establish how an image was created and whether the version being reviewed is the original or a later copy.
BFI considers image preservation and record management as part of the planning for suitable forensic photography assignments. Depending on the agreed scope, relevant documentation may include the case or assignment reference, image sequence, capture date and time where available, subject description, photographer information and any observations needed to interpret the photographs correctly.
Original images should be preserved according to the applicable procedures and agreed requirements. When an image requires cropping, annotation, brightness adjustment or other processing for a particular purpose, the processed version should be distinguished from the original. Any processing that could affect interpretation should be documented and should not be used to conceal or invent features.
Image metadata may contain useful information about a file and its capture, but metadata should not automatically be treated as conclusive proof of when or where a photograph was taken. Metadata can be missing, changed or affected during transfer and processing. Its interpretation may require examination of the file history and other available records.
BFI can discuss appropriate arrangements for maintaining the original photographs, keeping relevant copies and documenting any agreed processing. The exact file-transfer, storage and reporting procedures should be clarified for each assignment, particularly when the photographs may be used in a legal or formal investigation.
Photographs may sometimes be difficult to interpret because of low light, shadows, blur, compression, reflections or limited resolution. A review may help determine whether the existing image contains usable information and whether any carefully documented processing could improve its visibility.
BFI can discuss forensic image clarity and enhancement requirements as a separate scope of work where suitable. The available options depend on the original file, its quality, the nature of the detail being examined and the intended purpose of the review.
Image enhancement should be handled cautiously. Adjusting brightness, contrast or other display properties may make existing information easier to view, but it cannot reliably recover details that were never captured. Excessive processing can also create misleading visual patterns or obscure the distinction between original image content and a processed representation.
A genuine forensic image review must preserve the original file and distinguish it from enhanced copies. If the question concerns alleged editing, compositing, manipulation or the authenticity of a photograph, that may require a separate forensic image examination rather than ordinary enhancement.
BFI can clarify whether the requirement is for photographic documentation, image clarity improvement or a more detailed authenticity assessment. The scope and limitations should be established before any conclusion is drawn from the images.
Photographic evidence may be submitted or considered in legal proceedings, but the photographs alone do not guarantee that a particular issue has been proved. Their significance may depend on how the images were created, who captured them, the identification of the subject, the relevant records, the integrity of the files and the applicable legal requirements.
BFI can discuss the documentation and organization of photographs for suitable court-related and legal matters. Depending on the agreed scope, the work may include arranging the photographic record in a logical sequence, identifying images through appropriate references, describing what is visible and providing supporting documentation about the photographic assignment.
A clear photographic record should distinguish between observable features and interpretations. For example, the report can describe visible damage to a surface without claiming that a particular person caused the damage unless that conclusion is independently supported. Likewise, a photograph of a scene may show the position of an object when recorded, but it may not establish its position before any disturbance occurred.
Where a case requires a formal expert report, witness assistance or specialist opinion, those deliverables should be discussed separately and undertaken only where suitable professional competence and the applicable requirements are met. The photographs should not be described as automatically court-admissible, conclusive or sufficient to establish liability.
BFI aims to support clear visual documentation that can be considered alongside the wider case record. The admissibility and weight of photographs remain subject to the applicable law, the facts of the case and the assessment of the relevant authority.
Forensic photography requires attention to detail, clear planning and an understanding of how images may be interpreted later. A photograph should record the relevant subject accurately, establish its context where necessary and remain connected to the documentation associated with the assignment.
BFI approaches each request according to the nature of the investigation and the photographic objective. Crime scene photography may require a different plan from vehicle damage documentation, injury photography, a fire-related property inspection or the close-up recording of a physical item. The work should therefore be tailored to the question being addressed and the conditions in which photography can be carried out.
Accuracy and transparency are essential. A responsible photographic record should not conceal limitations, exaggerate what an image demonstrates or replace the original photograph with an undocumented altered version. Where a separate technical conclusion is needed, it should be based on appropriate evidence and the relevant expertise.
Confidentiality is also important because forensic photographs can contain sensitive personal details, private premises, injury images, property information and material associated with an investigation. Access to the images and their use should be managed according to the purpose of the assignment and applicable authorization requirements.
BFI can discuss the required photographic coverage, the intended use of the images and the documentation needed for the case. The scope, practical arrangements and limitations should be confirmed before proceeding. No specific investigative result, insurance decision, court outcome or finding of responsibility can be guaranteed through photography alone.
BFI provides forensic photography assistance for suitable assignments connected with Delhi NCR, Ghaziabad and nearby areas, subject to the nature of the case, the location conditions and the required arrangements. The service may be relevant to investigations, accident documentation, physical evidence photography, property damage records and other matters requiring an accurate visual record.
The location-based requirements may include Ghaziabad, Indirapuram, Vaishali, Vasundhara, Kaushambi, Sahibabad, Raj Nagar, Raj Nagar Extension, Loni and nearby localities. Depending on the assignment, BFI can also discuss forensic photography requirements associated with Noida, Greater Noida, Delhi, Gurugram and Faridabad.
The precise scope depends on the location of the scene, the availability of authorized access, the condition of the subject and the purpose of the photographs. An active crime scene or restricted location may require permission from the responsible authority before photography can take place. Private premises, sensitive records and injury-related images may also require appropriate consent or lawful authorization.
BFI can discuss the assignment requirements and clarify which photographic documentation may be suitable. Location coverage should be confirmed for the specific case rather than assumed to mean that every type of photography or specialist examination is automatically available at every location.
If you require Forensic Photography Expert Services in Delhi NCR, BFI can discuss your requirements concerning crime scene photography, evidence documentation, accident and vehicle photography, fire damage photography, property damage records and other suitable forensic photographic assignments.
The initial discussion can establish the location, nature of the subject, purpose of the images, access permissions, safety considerations and intended use of the photographic record. Any specific requirements for scales, supporting notes, original image preservation, image enhancement or court-related documentation should be clarified before the work proceeds.
BFI aims to provide accurate and carefully documented photographic records that can assist the appropriate investigation or review. The scope of the service and its limitations should be agreed in advance, especially when photographs will form part of a legal, insurance or technical assessment.

Forensic photography services involve the systematic photographic documentation of locations, objects, injuries, damage and other features relevant to an investigation or legal matter. The work may include overall scene views, contextual photographs, close-up evidence images and associated documentation, depending on the purpose and scope of the assignment.
BFI provides forensic photography assistance for suitable requirements in Delhi NCR, subject to the nature of the assignment, site access, safety conditions and required permissions. The scope should be discussed before the work begins so the photographic requirements and deliverables are clear.
Forensic photography is intended to preserve an accurate visual record for investigative, technical or legal review. It places particular emphasis on context, perspective, scale, image integrity and supporting documentation rather than artistic composition. The photographs should represent the subject as recorded and should not introduce misleading changes.
The appropriate set depends on the scene and the evidence involved. A photographic record commonly includes overall views to show the location, mid-range views to connect items with their surroundings, and close-up views to document individual features. Suitable close-up photographs with a scale may also be needed when recording size or dimensions.
Photographs may form part of the evidence considered in a court case, but their admissibility and significance depend on the applicable law, the circumstances of capture, the identification and preservation of the files, and the other evidence available. Photography cannot guarantee a particular judicial outcome.
BFI can discuss suitable accident and vehicle photography assignments involving visible damage, vehicle condition, road surroundings and other relevant features. The service scope depends on site access, safety conditions and the documentation required. Photography does not independently determine fault, speed or the full sequence of an accident.
BFI can discuss forensic photography for suitable fire-damaged property and insurance-related matters. The photographs may help document visible damage and the condition of affected areas. Determining the cause of a fire, proving arson or deciding an insurance claim may require additional investigation and evidence.
Not by themselves in every case. Photographs can record visible conditions and relevant details, but the cause of an incident may require specialist examination, measurements, testing, witness information or other evidence. Any interpretation should remain within what the images and supporting material actually establish.
Image clarity processing may sometimes make existing information easier to view, depending on the original image quality and the purpose of the examination. The original file should be preserved, and any processed version should be distinguished from it. Enhancement cannot reliably recreate details that were never captured.
A scale can help communicate the size of a feature or object when it is photographed appropriately. For useful comparison, the scale should be positioned in a suitable relationship to the subject and should not hide relevant details. A photograph with a scale does not replace every required measurement.
